Challenge:
This was our second project with this client. Between the work we did in 2012 and 2017, we installed new roofs on 80% of the entire facility. The main challenge was protecting the 30’ x 135’ water holding tanks inside. They could not have any dust or debris fall in them because they held drinking water. Part of the job required us to hire multiple contractors to remove existing mechanical equipment and install new equipment. We also needed to work around an electrical conduit that ran along the deck to ensure it wasn’t cut or destroyed.
Solution:
A custom scaffolding was built to span over the tanks to install a temporary membrane, allowing employees to monitor the water clarity. We also developed weekly meetings with the owner and architect to schedule the process of removing existing equipment to avoid any delays in their current operations during the project.
“DCG performed admirably on both projects with minimal disruption to our operations and within the tight schedules set for the projects. Communication has been great and the crew’s professionalism and conscientiousness are evidence of their respect for our facility and staff.”
